Why isn't Killer-Red on Wattpad?
Killer-Red is a fan fiction that crosses over DC with Devil May Cry. I had originally planned to post the text on Wattpad. However, I realized once I got about 3/4ths of the way in, while writing it, that it is actually too mature for this website. So, I have decided to host it on my own website, as I intend to transform it into an audio drama and would hate to put all that effort into the sound aspect, only for it not to be available to read online.
Elements that make it unsuitable for fan fiction platforms include derogatory language and violence. And, because this story is intended to be performative, I did not want to place it into the public domain (on Ao3). Here is the original summary I posted on Wattpad.
Following the events in DmC: Devil May Cry, Limbo City has been completely overtaken by Hell and it's human population has mostly died off. In order to repopulate, Vergil, whose become the new ruler, has been opening rifts to other cities and trafficking in a new population. One of the rifts he opens is in Arkham Asylum, where he acquires Fear Toxin, and all of the prisoners and staff. Amongst the people he steals, he's most impressed with Harleen "Frances" Quinzel, whom he becomes infatuated with...
He's least impressed with the one prisoner that doesn't make it to Hell in one piece. Jason Todd... whom Hell spitefully transforms into Batman's second and notoriously discarded, Robin.
This prisoner, Vergil dumps near the woods, having no use for him. His rebellious and rejected brother, Dante, however, saves him and takes him under his wing. Hell then transforms Robin into Killer-Red: A deadly combination of Robin, Red X, Red Hood, and a little piece of angelic energy from his new Nephilim friend. This bites Vergil in the ass, as the two killers quickly become a menace to the regime. The Demon King takes great offense to the brotherly bond the two form, and is greatly angered that Dante's replaced him, his own flesh and blood twin, with a trouble-making human.
